South Burnett Mountain Bike Club- SBMTB

The weather was perfect, with some rain the night before the event definitely settling the trails and making the corners super grippy. We were also very pleased with the number of entries over the weekend, with 88 entries on the Saturday and 102 entries for Sunday. Racing was fast and furious, with a number of extremely close finish

Wow another big weekend. This is a very busy month for our little club. Whether is be organising beginners clinics, rail trail rides, social rides on the trails or hammering around the trails at Bayview for the National Championships our club is there giving its all. Once again some great results from our junior club members (see Facebook for details as there are many). There were a number of podium finishes as well as some great achievements on what is a very taxing circuit

The weekend started early with a large tree needing to be removed from Superhighway. Big thanks to Russell and his chainsaw. Saturday saw the next stage of trail development on the Wondai trail network with two entrance signs erected. A great job was done, thanks to John and Jacob for their hard work. The signs look great. Another weekend of racing saw some of our junior members and their families travel to New Italy in northern NSW. Luca, Jacob, Ben and John (not so junior) raced strongly. There were a couple of mechanical issues and the odd flat tyre, not to mention the wet and mud track and features to negotiate, but this is all part of racing and the kids will only be stronger for the experience. What a great turnout for this mornings Come and Try Ride. We had 32 riders of all ages, as well as heaps of new faces. I think the kids outnumbered the adults today which was very encouraging to see. The riders met in Wondai bright and early Sunday morning. After a brief update on trail conditions the group headed out along the South Burnett Rail Trail and into the Wondai Mountain Bike Trails in McEuen Forestry. Once in the forestry the large group broke into 3 smaller groups
