SEQ MTB Series Race 1 Wondai Trails

What an awesome weekend of competition and fun.

This was our club's first attempt at running an event such as this. The weather was perfect, with some rain the night before the event definitely settling the trails and making the corners super grippy. We were also very pleased with the number of entries over the weekend, with 88 entries on the Saturday and 102 entries for Sunday.

Racing was fast and furious, with a number of extremely close finishes over the weekend, which was exciting for the spectators who came out to watch the event. The bacon and egg burgers with the lot were a massive hit, as was the local coffee van. We also heard great feedback from riders and support crews about our trophies, lollies for the kiddies and the peanut prizes for riders.

We would like to take this opportunity to thanks all the riders and spectators who made this a wonderful family friendly weekend. To our volunteers, you are amazing. Everyone was eager to help and there were plenty of smiles all round. We would also like to thank of wonderful sponsors #woolworthskingaroy #ryansbutchery #dustyhillwines #anderssonsfruitmarket #protecooils #crumptons #workstuffkingaroy #psmprobike #qcasurveys #johnprovanbuilding #billhullcarcentre

Finally to the committee, who worked so hard, to not only bring an event like this to the South Burnett after a 20 year absence, but to put on an event that ran smoothly and that has had such great reviews. Well done to you all for your amazing efforts.

Special thanks to our photographer #dylanprovanvisual for these amazing photos. These are Dylan's picks from the photos he took over the weekend (with a couple of extras thrown in. Bigger and better next year. Who knows there may be something extra already in the pipeline. Stay tuned. Off to Gordo we go. Cheers.
