This is the third year that the South Burnett Mountain Bike Club has organised the Ride 4 Relay. This is a charity mountain bike ride, that over the last 2 years has raised over $25000 for the Relay for Life and Cancer Council Queensland. The Ride 4 Relay is a small self catered ride, in 2017 we had 8 riders, last year 13 and in 2019 we are hoping to have between 15-20 riders. We have a small but dedicated band of support personnel that keep us fed, watered and safe while riding.
The Ride 4 Relay spans four and a half days, starting at the Kingaroy Showgrounds on Tuesday the 8 October, with riders covering a little over 400kms. We utilise rail trails and dirt or bitumen backroads along the ride. This year the ride will take us from Kingaroy to Wondai, back to Kingaroy, onto Camp Duckadang (near Linville, via Mt Stanley), then along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail to Nanango and finally back to Kingaroy finishing at the South Burnett Relay For Life Event on Saturday 12 October.
It is an absolute honour to organise and participate in this ride each year. We ride to help raise money:
* For people and families who are going through cancer and recovery and
* To honour those people who have lost the battle with cancer
